Faculty of Arts in SKBR College occupies a pride of place because of the fact that the institution was started in 1951 with B.A., course and therefore it is as old as the institution. At first the Department of Politics was a combained department of History and Politics. In 1973, it was bifurcated and since then the Department of Politics has been functioning independently.

HOD Profile Department of Politics :
Sri.Y.K.Satyanarayna Murthy is the Head of the Department of Political Science. He is a post graduate from Andhra University, AU PG Centre, Kakinada and jointed the Department of Political Science in August’ 1992. Previously worked as part-time lecturer in Govt. Jr. College, Mamidikuduru (1988-1989), and also worked as Junior lecturer in C.D.P. Jr. College, Amalapuram (1989-1992).

He also associated with the School of Distance Education of Andhra University and Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad as a counselor. And I am appointed to Andhra University School of Distance Education Assistant Co-ordinator, I am nominated as Member, Board of Studies in Political Science & Public Administration (UG) to the Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry. Sri.Y.K.Satyanarayana Murthy is recently appointed as the several Autonomous Colleges Adikavi Nannaya University nomine in Government Arts College, Rajahmundry. P.R.Govt. College, Kakinada and Sri.Y.N.M.Degree College, Narasapuram. He is also the question paper setter for several Autonomous Colleges as UG Level.
